A Visionary and Interdisciplinary Creative Force
Bridging the worlds of movement, fine arts, immersive design, and holistic practice.
Nicola Moran is a contemporary circus artist with a BA in Fine and Applied Art from the University of Ulster, Belfast. She is deeply committed to researching both disciplines and finding innovative ways to merge them. Her work explores concept development through experimental conversations between body, form, and material.
Nicola is the founder and artistic director of POW Dundalk, she creates platforms for artists to showcase works in progress. She also serves as the creative and programme director for Dublin Circus Project, which supports professionals and the next generation of performers.
Nicola has a keen interest in developing site-specific work, uncovering the layered emotional responses to the relationship between body and place. As a professional circus artist, she has performed nationally and internationally collaborating with companies such as Feathers Ensemble, Aerial Cirque, Luxe, and Twisted Lane Productions.
Her bespoke work spans a wide range of environments, from creating acrobatic imagery in the remote bog landscapes of Connemara to the mountains of Greece and the heart of urban Dublin. Notable projects include a durational performance on Grafton Street with Red Torc, which gained national attention, and directing large-scale performances for the Brigit Festival, including a striking vertical dance piece off the historic GPO in 2024 and a performance at Bernardo’s Square in 2023.
Nicola is currently artist in residence in Creative Spark Dundalk.
Her work has been generously supported by Dublin City Council, Galway County Council, the Arts Council of Ireland, Creative Ireland, and Culture Ireland.
Nicola originally specialised as a silversmith and previously worked in New York as a metalsmith for fashion house Artemas Quibble. Now, Nicola's pieces are handcrafted with love using time honoured skills. Her line has a strong yet minimal aesthetic that is socially driven. All of the jewellery pieces are made in-house and as much as she can, using only responsibly sourced and recycled materials. Nicola is registered for Fair Trade Gold.
