Nicola Moran is a contemporary interdisciplinary artist. Aerial and contortion performer, teacher and jeweller from Dundalk, Co. Louth. She has recently completed ‘Cleaning the house’ method training from Marina Abramovic Institute, Greece and will start a new three month residency at An Tain arts centre, Dundalk. Opportunities made possible by the Arts council of Ireland.
Nicola earned a BA in Fine and Applied Art, specialising in silversmithing from the University of Ulster, Belfast. She previously worked in New York as a metalsmith for http://www.artemas-quibble.com/ . And now creates at her studio space in the Irish design shop, Drury street, Dublin. Nicola’s line has a strong yet minimal aesthetic that is socially driven.
Working as an aerialist and acrobat, Nicola makes bespoke street shows with Feathers Ensemble both nationally and internationally https://youtu.be/Ro7C3FIbPvI and performs regularly with Aerial cirque. Nicola performed vertical dance off a 65 meter crane in the show Elevate by Aerial Cirque, an aerial gravity-defying spectacle on the soon-to-be-opened Central Plaza, Dublin. https://youtu.be/ak7NNa_A2pU while also holding independent residencies.

Nicola also decided to develop her artistry and passion, to nurture the body were she studied at Arhanta yoga ashram, India and qualified as a yoga teacher. This journey has evolved, taking her all over the world, circus school in Israel and most recently Danzaire and Los almendros in Cost Rica.
Additionally Nicola is a passionate aerial arts instructor. She has received her aerial teacher training from Aerial Cirque, Dublin and continues to facilitate there. Currently Nicola works in Dublin, teaching, performing and creating jewellery.
